Mission

As stated in our purpose, at Heritage Presbyterian Church "we strive to be a Spirit-inspired, mission-minded community of Christians" — and through the congregation's faithfully provided offerings and special gifts, we again succeeded in 2010.

In an article in the Fall 2010 Mission Crossroads dealing with the church's mission around the world, several Presbyterian churches are recognized for their commitment to mission. Their commitments were 10 percent of their capital campaigns. For several years, Heritage has had a goal of allocating 15 percent of our operating budget for Missions, not including special gifts and offerings. In 2010, our Missions budget (not including Special Offerings and Appeals) was $58,000 or 13.9% of Heritage’s operating budget. During 2010, the Missions Committee sought to provide direction for the outreach efforts of the Heritage congregation by reinforcing the gifts of time and talents with the complementary focusing of financial gifts and offerings.

Missions: Global

Heritage always has supported generously "the mission of the whole church" through Shared Mission Support. In 2010, over $23,000 (40%) went to Shared Mission Support that, in turn, provided for ministry and mission work by the Presbyterian Church (USA) throughout the United States and in more than 60 countries around the world.
