Grow

To grow is to spring up and develop to maturity" (Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary) -; a biological concept that is very much self-explanatory - for without growth, which is indicative of life, the end is certain! Spiritual growth shares the same principle: If we don't grow spiritually, we die spiritually. As 1 Peter 2:2 says, "Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation." As disciples of Jesus Christ, we must learn to feed on spiritual milk and eventually spiritual solid food (Hebrews 5:14) by regularly reading and studying God's Word - BOTH individually AND together. The list of "Daily Lectionary Readings for the Week" found on our home page and in our Sunday bulletin is a good systematic way to start for individual devotion, and then to take advantage of one of the many opportunities that Heritage offers in Christian education: Sunday School classes, circles, small groups, Pastors Class, etc.
