Children in Worship, and Acolytes

Children in Worship

Children in Worship

We all know that kids get the wiggles during worship. It’s okay! We want you to know that you and your children have options. But let's be clear — children are always welcome to stay with their parents during worship. You know what’s best for your child.

During worship, our Nursery remains open for children under four. For those four years-old through 3rd grade, there is a "Children's Time" segment when kids are invited to the front of the Sanctuary for some time with one of the pastors. After that, children may return to their parents or they may go to Children in Worship. During Children in Worship, they are invited to Rooms 1 & 2 for an age-appropriate worship experience. This gentle introduction to the structure of worship teaches Bible stories through drama, games, and arts and crafts. The children are also introduced to the concept of mission as they participate in service projects each quarter during their time in Children in Worship.

If you have questions, please contact Pastor Holly Davis.

Acolytes

Children from 4th grade and up are invited to receive training to participate in our worship service as acolytes. Acolytes carry the light that represents Christ's presence into the Sanctuary during our service of worship. Heritage is thankful for these young people who serve their church faithfully, and with reverence and dedication.
