Fellowship
Each Sunday, immediately following the worship service, our congregation convenes to the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and time together. Members of the congregation take turns hosting the Fellowship hour, and it's a great time to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Still, fellowship can take many more forms than just a gathering after worship. Heritage offers an entire spectrum of opportunities for members and friends to strengthen our bond in Christ.
Annual Fellowship Events
- Unless otherwise noted, all annual events are sponsored by Heritage's Congregational Life Committee. Please contact the church Office at 703-360-9546 if you have any questions.
- Picnic – Each September, Heritage hosts a Picnic for the members and friends of our congregation. It also serves as the kick-off for the beginning of each year's Christian Education classes. Attendees are asked to bring their own burgers/hotdogs for the grill masters and to bring one side dish. Children are entertained with a moon bounce, face painting and other fun games. It is an event that the entire congregation looks forward to each year.
- Souper Luncheon – Each January, the congregation gathers for its Annual Meeting to hear reports of the work of its various committees and the budget, and approve the annual Terms of Call for the pastors. Before this very important meeting, members gather in the Fellowship Hall for a wonderful luncheon of hot homemade soup and bread. It is an event that injects warmth and friendship into a cold winter Sunday!
- Progressive Dinner – Every April, members open their homes to each other for the Progressive Dinner. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an evening of good food, good fun, and good fellowship with members and friends of our congregation. Participants gather in groups of 8-10 adults to share potluck style appetizers and main courses in host homes. After dinner, all the small groups will gather at one member's home to enjoy dessert, coffee and more conversation.
- Taco Luncheon – In early May, the Congregational Life and Missions Committees work together to hold the annual Taco Luncheon to provide mission outreach to the small community of Miguel Aleman, Mexico.
